The 7 Steps of Highly Cool People
In my opinion, this article is
a good article to read, but it has many author side of view because there is no
evidence to support the points and facts written. In this article, there are
quite a number of fallacies that readers can found. Firstly, the author had
used appeal to common practice. It is proven by the sentence of “Because I am
an adult and I know better.” It is common for adults to know much more affairs
and matters than the younger. In fact, community believes in the words of the
elder rather than to believe on what the younger had to say.
Secondly, there is an appeal to
inappropriate authority. The author said that “even my friend tell me dancing
is the best form of exercise.” The author took an opinion from his friend, who
is not appropriate to have said that dancing is the best form of exercise.
Authors just use his friend to support his point in this article. Other
fallacies that reader can find in this article is ad populum, “Do you think
that dudes like Schumi once raced on the laps of Jalan Kuching or the wide,
open track we call the Federal Highway?”. The author used Schumi to support his
point which is illegal racing is really wussy, so that reader can accept this
point.
In conclusion, there is no evidence to support each of the point. it become a good article for some people to read and useless for other.
